Ambitious Clean-India programme launched at initiative of Prime minister has by and large been a successful movement except for one area where there is a big setback to the healthy movement is the ever increasing shit by dogs spread in roads and cities especially in urban areas. Keeping dogs as pets is also an increasing fashion in cities. It is time that Prime Minister focuses on the important issue and gives a loud message to people of this country through his monthly Man-ki-Baat and also through regular advertisements through celebrities and brand-ambassador of Clean-India movement. It is significant that there is an admirable check on practice of open-defecation ever since top celebrities are giving message through wide-spread message through advertisements.
Strict norms should be set for people keeping dogs and pets on lines in advanced countries. Compulsion of having licence from civic authorities for pet dogs should be strictly followed in practice with registration-tags hanged in necks of dogs. It should be made compulsory to attach shit-bags to pet dogs. Heavy fines and even imprisonment should be there for people not following such norms for their pet dogs. Fear-psychology apart from messages from top persons and celebrities can only make people follow such strict norms to effectively check ever-increasing dog-shit on streets and roads of cities. Civic authorities should study to check dog-shit of street-dogs.
