Sign-boards displayed prominently at Ranchi airport by Jharkhand government gave a pleasant surprise about properties being registered at nominal fees of just rupee one if registered in name of women. Since registration-fees of properties is quite high, such a big relief definitely will make people properties registered in name of ladies of the family giving a real and practical much-needed sense of security.
This model should be propagated and adopted nationally for giving Indian women a position of pride in present male-dominated society. Similar other steps are also necessary so that people may take birth of girl-child in the family a boon rather than a bane. For example some fields in medical science like gynaecology and dentistry can be either exclusively or with large proportion can be reserved for women.
Election Commission formula for making it compulsory for each political party to compulsorily give at least one-third party-tickets to women should be adopted till Women Reservation Bill is legislated. It is regretting that while even Islamic countries have adopted women-reservation which is also there for local bodies in Maharashtra, the same is not implemented for Lok Sabha and state-assemblies at national level in India.
