Home Textile Exporters Delegation met Commerce Minister for release of pending ROSL & to increase ROSL rates in Future.
A delegation of Home Textile Exporters Welfare Association (HEWA) led by Mr.Vikas Singh Chauhan and Mr.Anant Srivastava met Hon’ble Commerce Minister Shri Suresh P Prabhu on 21st December, 2017 & hailed him for actively working towards promotion of Exports that includes Increasing of MEIS from 2% to 4% And ROSL from 1.55% to 2.2% on Madeups.
During the meeting HEWA delegates also briefed the Hon’ble Minister about the pending ROSL since 1st July 2017 and also urged him to extend Pre GST Higher rates of Duty Drawback till June 2018 as it will give enough time to the exporters to complete their existing orders without changing the cost of goods which will further boost-up the textile Industry and help them sustain in international market.
The delegation also presented a comprehensive study on embedded taxes on cotton which are hindering textile exporters in the form of various taxes levied at different stages of production like fuel, electric duty etc & urged the Hon’ble Commerce Minister to enhance ROSL rates.
GST will be a game changer in the long run for India but as it is in the transition period so labour intensive textile industry requires special attention from Government.
