It refers to media-reports about central government considering colour-coding of generic medicines like is done to distinguish vegetarian and non-vegetarian food-products for promoting sale of generic medicines which is considered to be cheaper than their corresponding branded medicines. Already steps like printing name of generic chemical on branded medicines in font-size double that of branded name, separate shelves for generic medicines in chemist-shops and making it compulsory for medical practitioners to print name of corresponding generic chemical in legible writing together with name of branded medicines have been taken by the government. But such steps other than printing of name of generic chemical on packs of branded medicines are not followed in practice. Moreover there is no...

Timings of news-bulleting and other programmes presented by News Services Division of All India Radio (Akashwani) were last revised more than five decades ago when Television-network had insignificant presence. Then timings were revised in a manner that Hindi bulletins may be broadcast just before English news-bulletins like shifting main Hindi bulletin from then 8.15 pm to now 8.45 pm. But such placement deprived Samayaki important time-place just after main Hindi bulletin like is there for Spotlight relayed at 9.15 pm just after main English bulletin. All India Radio should go for a total new time-schedule for all its news-bulletins and other programmes presented by News Services Division. Main evening Hindi news-bulletin should be advanced to 8 pm followed by Samayaki at 8.15 pm just a...

Surgical strike necessary to prevent misuse of RTI Act and saving public-resources apart from easing use of RTI Act by general public

RTI Act should be saved by preventing it from misuse. RTI fees should be uniform for all states and competent authorities at rupees 50 that may include copying charges for first 20 copied pages for saving to both public-authorities and portioners on demanding and remitting copying charges, but eliminating non-serious RTI petitioners because of a negligible fee of just rupees ten. People in BPL category are already exempted from paying RTI fees. When government-fees for every public-service is increased manifold in last more than a decade, there is no sense in not revising RTI fees also that too by providing additional benefit of free 20 copied pages. To prevent RTI applications being filed under fake names, ID proof should be compulsorily enclosed with RTI application in tune with para ...

Provisions of  RTI Act for information regarding private bodies through regulatory bodies be publicised Central government should put all Public-Private-Partnerships PPPs, sports-bodies, cooperative-societies and other such bodies affecting lives of millions to be directly under RTI Act to effectively check massive misuse of public-funds by their office-bearers. It is necessary because all such bodies approach High Courts to obtain ex-party stay-orders on CIC-verdicts declaring them under RTI Act. Retired Chief Information Commission RK Mathur in a CIC-verdict noted that Institute of Banking Personnel Selection IBPS is not a public-authority under RTI Act even though four million candidates appear every year for examinations conducted by it. Regulatory authorities like Reserve Bank o...

Poor knowledge of public-authorities result in extra-ordinary spent of resources on RTI applications transferred under section 6(3) of RTI Act to thousands of departments

Public Information Officers of many government-departments and ministries of central and state governments are wasting public-resources including needless extra-heavy spent of man-hours by transferring an RTI application to an unending chain of thousands of other public-authorities on queries of generic nature. DoPT circular dated 24.09.2010 specifically prohibits such multiple transfer of RTI application under section 6(3) of RTI Act. One such transfer through an Office-Memorandum dated 15.02.2019 was done by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Divyangjan of Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. It is also observed that some ministries and government-departments adopt such practice to avoid uncomfortable queries of RTI applications. DoPT should take every...

National Anti-Profiteering Authority should accept submissions for general improvements

National Anti-Profiteering Authority NAA is one of many such public-utility forums which are not known to common people. Central Government should publicise this and other such forums and helpline-websites so that more and more people may be able to take advantage of such ideal and unique features of governance-system. Rather it can be made mandatory to print details of such consumer-friendly authorities on back of invoices. But presently NAA entertains only individual complaints. NAA wrote back that it does not handle public-interest suggestions which may auto-check anti-consumer practices resulting in removing malpractice of excessive profiteering at root-level. NAA should consider such public-interest suggestions which may provide big relief to all consumers rather than NAA providing...

Central government should study of abnormal heavy discounts on on-line sale

Multi-page super-costly advertisements were seen in leading newspapers offering extra-ordinary heavy discounts on popular-branded electrical and electronics items. Even extra heavy discount is added if items are purchased through credit0-cards issued by some specific banks. Discussion with dealers all over the capital city of Delhi investing hugely for trade of these items revealed that companies sell all their obsolete models and returned items after claim lodged by consumers through such on-line sale. If it is really so, then all such media-publicity should be directed to compulsorily boldly mention about such bitter reality. Obsolete models and returned items on claim can then also be sold through dealer-network abolishing warranty-conditions and clearly mentioned on items and invoic...

Proceedings in Pakistani parliament with slogans of shame-shame for Pakistani prime minister following attack by India on terror-camps in PoK across loc on 26.02.2019, and confessional statement by terror-chief Hafiz Saeed make India asking Pakistan to hand over Hafiz Saeed and Masoor Ahmed to India when even United Nations has asked Pakistan to restrain from any counter military action against India. Otherwise Pakistan will have to prepare for US type action by India to finish these two known militants for which Pakistan does not require any more proof. Speeches of these two in Pakistan, and the bitter fact of getting forced release of Masoor Ahmed from Indian prison through plane-hijacking of Indian flight IC-814 to Kandhaar are more than enough evidences for Pakistan to act against thes...
