Huge balance is lying in inoperative accounts in banks with even many account-holders having forgotten about their bank-accounts. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has introduced Know-Your-Customer (KYC) forms which has been made mandatory also for closing such inoperative accounts. Such cumbersome practice not only is causing difficulty to account-holders wishing to close their inoperative accounts, but also creating a big loss of man-hours of bank-employees apart from unnecessary data-entries and record-keeping. Frauds are reported through some bank-employees misappropriating funds in such inoperative accounts where amount is large. Union Bank of India in tune with practice of employing social media team by corporates of public and private sector for goods and services of use to commoners, has also made provision of having message-box on its facebook-page where prompt replies are given by employed social-med-a team. But this is a totally wasteful provision for facebook-page of Union Bank of India where members of its social-media team have two replies (a) contact branch-manager (b) lodge complaint on 18002082244 or 1800222244 without any resolution of the problem. Historical Chandni Chowk is being redeveloped for last some years having been slow-down mainly because of complete stop of work during lockdown and sometime thereafter. But now almost complete redevelopment having been finished, some bottle-necks are left for reasons best known to concerned authorities. Entry and exit points at Red Fort crossing connecting Chandni Chowk are not yet given finishing touch as yet making only one side of two-sided road usable for both entry and exit that too with several road-blocks and a temporary gate which is usually closed even between 9 pm to 9am when vehicular traffic is allowed in Chandni Chowk. System should be that all bank-accounts and deposits of central and state governments and public-sector-undertakings must compulsorily with public-sector banks only. It has otherwise also become necessary because of several private-sector banks like were closed either permanently or for some days. Even salary-accounts of employees in governments and public-sector should be with the respective public-sector banks where employer-authorities have their bank-accounts for easy and convenient banking through transfer.
