Notorious year 2020 witnessed demise of yet other legendry Mahashay Dharmpal Gulati on 03.12.2020 who rose to become spice-king in India under world-renowned brand-name MDH with an industry having annual turn-over of rupees 1200 crores from a poor tonga-driver coming as a Hindu refugee from Pakistan driving rented tonga on Old Delhi roads with two-annas fare per passenger. He was honoured with Padma Bhushan by the present government when the tradition was changed to honour mainly poorer section of society with Padma awards. He was a living inspiration for those who wished to rise at their own rather than always begging jobs and subsidies from the government. In a lighter vein, he snatched extra earning of many rich models in advertisement industry by becoming a popular model himself for his MDH spices. His death has been a very big loss to Arya Samaj where his contribution was remarkabely significant. He spent a lot of his income on charity for public cause.
India Posts should bypass rules by urgently issuing a commemorative postage stamp in honour of Mahashaya Dharmpal Gulati. It may be recalled that rules have earlier also been bypassed though for personal reasons of the minister-in-charge at that time to issue a series of commemorative stamps in honour of his own father just after his death. Rules were also broken by issuing a set of two postage stamps on living legend Sachin Tendulkar. But breaking rules in case of Mahashaya Dharmpal giving his life-history in supporting brochure will inspire youth of India to look for earning opportunities at their own rather than depending on government. Even one of the stamps can carry his two pictures, one a colourful current one and the other in black-white driving tonga. India Posts will earn a lot of revenue when MDH and other Arya Samajist corporate-groups will buy commemorative stamps on Mahashaya Dharmpal in large numbers.
