Shadow

Real Bharat

Lot of people, specially the so called Modernites and Secularists allege that Hindus have always been defeated by every invader and as a Nation are weaklings and are afraid of Islam, which has ruled over India during entire modern history. I am trying to give my take in the matter and request readers to KINDLY do comment, whichever way they feel like, so as to initiate a debate on the subject.
Hindus are not, we’re not and never will be afraid of Islamists. Only we react slowly and when we react, violence is the last resort.
India was first invaded in the year 700 AD, attracted by its vast wealth. They were resisted throughout. In the year 1000 AD, Salar Masood, from Arabia, ( who was considered a Devine person by them), along with a vast army consisting of at least one man from each house of the entire Arabian world, attacked India with the grand vision of bringing Lakhs of young Indian girls and each with cart loads of gold and precious diamonds. They did continue to defeat everybody and plunder in the most brutal manner, destroying everything on the way and reached near Faizabad in UP, where the eastern side of UP kings took a united stand and not only defeated the vast invading army but killed EACH AND EVERYBODY, including Salar Masood. Only one person who somehow , survived injuries, reached Arabia in a beleaguered state, years after on foot and told of the TOTAL LOSS. The lamps did not burn in the entire Arabia for months. For next 100 years, NOBODY dared attack.
When in 1103, next attack came, we lost not for lack of bravery but for greed of a few persons and cowardice and wrong notions about Humanity. Dahir Sen, the small king of border in Sindh, resisted wave after wave of attackers and killed a huge number of them , but then a small Buddhist population of the place, was convinced by Mohd Gori that he had come to punish Dahir only and would go back after taking  him a prisoner. They opened the back gates of the fort to avoid further bloodshed, resulting in the wholesale murder rape and plunder of everybody.  INCLUDING those Buddhists. Those who BETRAY THEIR OWN,  ALWAYS MEET THE SAME FATE. This is History and a universal truth.
Hindu’s continued with their false notions and beliefs(as some are attempting now) and Gouri was pardoned 17 times by Maharaja PrithviRaj Chouhan. He was defeated because of the treachery of JaiChand. Afterwards, JaiChand was the first to die at the hands of Gouri and his wife and daughter raped by a whole horde of beasts openly and publicly. Prithviraj was still brave enough to kill Mohammed Gouri in his own Darbar, though blinded.
Thereafter also Mughals could never win the entire India because resistance continued throughout History. Some kings did loose but not the Hindu Nation. From south to  north and east to west, fight continued. Even in Rajasthan, Durgadas Rathore, Amar Singh, Maharana Bappa Rawal( who chased Mughals upto Afghanistan,) Maharana Udai Sìngh, Pratap and Shivaji in west and South(I am forgetting the names as I am not a Historian) from year 900 AD to 1300 AD, Chalukyas, Pallavs, Pandyas and Rashtrakutas, had vast empires, spanning the whole of Southern Peninsula including SriLanka and Maldives ,
Samanta Sena and his dynasty in Bengal, Pratiharas in Central India, Chattrasal in Bundelkhand and later on Shivaji and Peshwas in west and south west. Maratha armies defeated Aurangzeb decisively and he spent his last 25 years fighting Shivaji and died a dejected man and his grave is in Aurangabad. After Aurangzeb the Mughal dynasty was limited to Delhi and around only. The whole narrative of Medivial history has been created around Mughals- from Babar to Aurangzeb- a span of hardly 125 years, forgetting the glory, fights bravery and nobility of Hindu kings.Aurangzeb died in 1707 and Guru Nanak Devji had been born in 1469. The 9th Guru Saheb Shri Gobind Singh ji started Sikhi with a distinct way of living ( not as a seperate religion). It was during 1783 Baba Baghel Singh attacked Delhi badshah (emperor only in name), which our ancestorsalso joined. BUT, after the demise of Guru Gobind Singhji, Sikhs, as a seperate force almost collapsed and in 1847 defeated decisively and minor king Duleep Singh taken prisoner and deported to England, to be married to a British Girl and live on a pension. Just 10 years later Sikhs sided with their sworn enemies, the British against the 1857 war of Independence and sided with the British. Thereafter, they fought many glorious battles but only as British troops. The armies of Baba Baghel Singh and all Sikh forces, upto much later consisted of a mix of Keshdhari Hindus and Sahajdhari Hindus. There was never any distinction between the two till mid 1970s, and till then all patriotic Hindus made their eldest son a Sikh. Sant Fateh Singh, a concerted Muslim into Sikhism, created the chasm and Congress promoted the devide. Actually Congress devided Hindus into sub religious sects, wherever they could. They devided Buddhists and then Jains into seperate religions. Only few years back they tried trick in Karnataka, to devide Lingayats as a seperate religion, but foiled by Nationalists.
On a seperate turf, the resistance was going on as Bhakti Marg, for those grihasthas who could not fight with arms. The renaissance or trying to weed out twists in religious thought, called vikriti, has been a part of Vedic culture. The famous preaching of Bhagwan Krishna at Kurukshetra, during Mahabharat war-यदा यदा हि धर्मस्य ग्लानिर्भवति भारत: विनाशाचायश्च दुश्कृताम ,अभ्युत्थानम धरमस्य तदातमानमं सृजान्यहम
Whenever some evil comes into Dharma, to remove that and finish of evil forces I take Awtar or re- incarnate myself. It was in this tradition that after Krishna, the great Sankar(the first Shankaracharya was born), who within a short life span of 37 years travelled on foot the entire length and breadth of India, established Four Shanker Mathas in four corners of India, the famous Shanker Muth at Srinagar and a fifth sub peeth at Kanchi kama koti. He eliminated Vam marg, and re-established the Vedic Sanatana Dharma in true form.
Great Guru Nanak Devji Saheb was born in 1469 AD. Maharishi Dayanand and some others on- Socio -religious level with many more Saints at regional level came to support  and save Vedics from feeling frustrated and loose faith. On purely Religious level also Sant Surdas, Sant Tulsidas, Mirabai, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Swami RamKrishna Paramahans were almost re incarnations of God himself. This, can be seen that the psychologically Vedic Hindu continued the struggle all through. The same continues to this day also. It may not be forgotten that 58 nations in Arabia upto Pakistan have got themselves converted into Islam but India is standing like a rock even today bearing the onslaught of Christianity in the garb of modernity and Islam in the garb of Secularism. We have weaknesses but there is a famous saying in Hindi- यूनान मिश्र औ रोमां सब मिट गये जहां से, कुछ बात है कि हस्ती मिटती नहीं हमारी।
So the war continues, now people have to decide if they have to establish separate identities, for very narrow and shortime sectarian gains or continue to be part of the great  Banyan Tree with a lfe which never dies, even if the main trunk dies, but many branches  form into trunks in a manner that to distinguish which was original and which are branches becomes difficult.
I have been President of Ghaziabad Itihas Parishad for few years in 1970s and brushed my knowledge of History after decades.
I may have been wrong but have my duty to record TRUTHFULLY to the best of my re collection, a short narrative of the heroic Vedic Hindu struggle, although I never read History in school, beyond 7th standard. But even seemingly disjointed information, gotten several years later, has gone  to my mind to fit into the right slot towards forming the true picture, as I see it.
The struggle of survival has continued for millenniums and WILL CONTINUE TILL FINAL VICTORY.
Thanks to those readers, who care to read it. Best regards.
