UP Chief Minister becomes role-model for austerity by declining costly new cars
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has created example for other political rulers by turning down proposal of purchasing new super-costly cars worth several crores of rupees for his convoy. Instead he decided to use five-year old car purchased by his predecessor Akhilesh Yadav.
It should be a rule both for centre and the states that only economical cars with ex-factory price of say upto rupees ten lakhs may be purchased at public-expense. However exemption may be there for President, Vice President and Prime Minister. Also there may not be any price-limit for cars purchased for use of foreign dignitaries.
