7.23 Crore Connections released under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana

The Salient features of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana(PMUY) Scheme are as under :- (i) LPG connection is released in the name of adult woman of the poor family, subject to the condition that no LPG connection exists in the name of any family member of the household and fulfilling other terms and conditions. (ii) Initially, the beneficiaries under PMUY were identified either from SECC list or from seven other identified categories. Subsequently, Government has extended the benefit to all left out poor families under PMUY subject to fulfilment of terms & conditions. (iii) Under the Scheme, cash assistance upto Rs 1600/- for providing new LPG connection is provided by the Central Government. LPG Portability Options

Portability option for transfer of LPG connection was launched across the country in 2013. Subsequently, the process of online transfer of connection within same market was made fully automatic for the transfers within the same Oil Marketing Company (OMC). Through this initiative, the consumer is empowered to choose his/her destination distributor online from his registered login without the intervention of his parent distributor. In this process event the Transfer Subscription Voucher (TSV) is delivered at customer premises by the destination distributor and it does away for the consumer to physically approach both the distributors with a transfer request. National Policy on Bio-Fuel

The National Policy on Biofuels-2018 notified on 8.6.2018, inter-alia, allows production of ethanol from damaged food grains like wheat, broken rice etc. which are unfit for human consumption. The policy also allows conversion of surplus quantities of food grains to ethanol, based on the approval of National Biofuel Coordination Committee. Use of damaged foodgrains and surplus foodgrains for production of ethanol will increase its availability for Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) Programme. During the ethanol supply year 2017-18, 150.5 crore litres of ethanol was blended in Petrol which resulted in foreign exchange impact of about Rs. 5070 crore and carbon emission reduced to the extent of 29.94 lakh tonnes. हवा में ओजोन का उच्च स्तर स्वास्थ्य के लिए हानिकारक हो सकता है। इस वर्ष अप्रैल से जून के बीच गर्मी के महीनों में जब पारा लगातार बढ़ रहा है तो राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र में ओजोन का स्तर भी पिछले वर्ष की तुलना में निर्धारित मात्रा से अधिक पाया गया है। वैज्ञानिकों का कहना है कि हवा में मौजूद सूक्ष्म कणों के साथ ओजोन की जुगलबंदी स्वास्थ्य के लिए अधिक खतरनाक हो सकती है। इस साल 1 अप्रैल से 15 जून के गर्मी के मौसम में ऐसे दिनों की संख्या ज्यादा रही है जब ओजोन का स्तर निर्धारित मानकों से अधिक दर्ज किया गया है। पिछले साल इस अवधि में पांच प्रतिशत दिन ऐसे थे जब ओजोन की मात्रा निर्धारित मानकों से अधिक पायी गई थी जो इस साल बढ़कर 16 प्रतिशत हो गई है। इस वर्ष 28 दिन ऐसे रहे हैं जब ओजोन का स्तर अधिक दर्ज किया गया है। यह आंकड़ा पिछले वर्ष 17 दिनों का था। सेंटर फॉर साइंस ऐंड एन्वायरमेंट (सीएसई) के श...

It is claimed to be superior over existing vaccines as it can generate immune response to anthrax toxin as well as its spores rather than the toxin alone.
