Resignation of Meghalaya Governor not enough

It refers to Meghalaya Governor V Shanmuganathan resigning after about 100 staffers of Raj-Bhawan made complaints to President and Prime Minister about state-governor virtually turning Governor-House into a club of young ladies, further adding to serious charge about undignified gestures of the state-governor towards a young lady coming for a job at Raj-Bhawan. Media-reports indicate that staffers complaining against V Shanmuganathan are armed with photos and videos of his undignified behavior towards ladies.

Mere accepting resignation of V Shanmuganathan should not close the matter. Enquiry should be made by a Supreme Court appointed committee under various provisions of law including Vishakha Committee guidelines and The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013 legislated subsequent to infamous 16/12 Nirbhaya gang-rape episode of New Delhi. It is second such episode involving a state-governor with first one being about ND Tiwari during his tenure as Andhra Pradesh governor. But unfortunately the episode was hided with no enquiry done and the notorious fellow being still politically worshipped cutting across party-lines.
