Kashmir has been a part of me since 1972 but it’s only over the last quarter century that I have tried to delve deeper to study it, particularly to find out about our Kashmir policy. लोकसभा में आज वेतन विधेयक, 2019 पारित हो गया। विधेयक पर विचार करने और पारित करने के लिए चर्चा की शुरुआत करते हुए केन्‍द्रीय श्रम और रोजगार राज्‍यमंत्री (स्‍वतंत्र प्रभार) श्री संतोष कुमार गंगवार ने कहा कि यह एक ऐतिहासिक विधेयक है, जिसका उद्देश्य पुराने और अप्रचलित श्रम कानूनों को विश्वसनीय और भरोसेमंद कानूनों में तब्दील करना है, जो वक्त की जरूरत है। इस समय 17 मौजूदा श्रम कानून 50 से ज्यादा वर्ष पुराने हैं और इनमें से कुछ तो स्वतंत्रता से पहले के दौर के हैं। वेतन विधेयक में शामिल किए गए चार अधिनियमों में से वेतन भुगतान अधिनियम, 1936 तो स्वतंत्रता से पहले का है और न्यूनतम वेतन अधिनियम, 1948 भी 71 साल पुराना है। इसके अलावा बोनस भुगतान विधेयक, 2965 और समान पारिश्रमिक अधिनियम, 1976 भी इसमें शामिल किया जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस संबंध में ट्रेड यूनियनों, नियोक्ताओं और राज्य सरकारों के...

Talking of drought when some parts of the country are reeling under the fury of floods may look awkward. But it is a reality at the moment. Visuals of flood fury in Assam, North Bihar, parts of Karnataka and Kerala are disturbing. More than 200 people (according to official estimate) have lost their life in floods.
